The 12 Apostles

From Christmas through New Year’s, my husband and I drove along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. On this particular day, we got up early and took a helicopter ride along the coast from Peterborough to Princetown. This photo is of the 12 Apostles off the coast. In geologic terms, the 12 Apostles are called stacks; they’re actually pieces of what used to be the mainland that over centuries have been separated from the coast by the incessant pounding of the ocean waves. I took this photo in December 2009.
