The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris

I visited the Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris (Our Lady’s Cathedral in Paris, France) in the spring of 2003. I’m especially proud of my well-framed photo of the back of the cathedral (shown above) that also features the cathedral’s famous flying buttresses. I’ve been to the cathedral a number of times, mostly because I like its Gothic style, and I love its stained glass windows. I also like the way the building’s features change with the changing light throughout the day.

The facade of Notre Dame

Notre Dame is the official cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paris, and it sits on the ÃŽle de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. Work was begun on the cathedral in 1163, but it wasn’t completed until 1345.

I took these photos in Paris, France, in April 2003.
